About Me

 

I am a Registered Practical Nurse who is very passionate about mental health and have had the opportunity to work in all the specialty areas of psychiatric nursing for the past 7 years. I am currently a Team Leader in our Professional Practice department at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences.

In my current role, I work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization to support corporate initiatives and to address program-specific needs or issues related to clinical practice. Some of the key activities I am involved in includes; supporting the development, implementation and evaluation of educational programs to assist staff to acquire and maintain the knowledge, skill and clinical judgment to deliver quality, client centered and evidence-informed care. As an educator, I foster an environment of ongoing learning and promote excellence in clinical practice through ensuring the delivery of specialized knowledge regarding current trends in health care and demonstrating a comprehensive knowledge of adult education principles, theories and methods in order to effectively support the development, delivery and evaluation of educational programs across the organization.

    • To develop, lead strategies, and maintain interprofessional collaboration to ensure safe medication practices at Ontario Shores.

    • To review confidential information provided to or prepared by the committee to assess or evaluate, in order to improve the quality of healthcare and related programs and services.
